Beef price and animal health topics to feature at April NBA events
18th March 2016
Region: National
Merial Animal Health is partnering with the National Beef Association (NBA) to support beef producer events in Hexham and Welshpool during early April.
These events will focus on engaging with farmers to discuss how they can tackle problems and find out how they can take advantage of current trends in the industry to improve their own businesses.
Chris Mallon says: “As the voice of the beef industry, the NBA has regional committees covering every part of the UK acting on behalf of members. The NBA is keen to encourage engagement and debate. We heartily support the partnership approach and will be working together with Merial to promote the beef industry and listen to farmers’ thoughts.”
Victoria Hudson, Merial Animal Health’s Large Animal Product Manager for the UK and Ireland says: “We’re delighted to support these meetings and look forward to meeting NBA members. As pioneers in the field of antiparasitics, with well-known heritage brands including Ivomec® and Trodax®, Merial has a wealth of information about the production limiting effects of parasites. We hope NBA members will find this useful.”
Meeting dates and locations:
5th April - Hexham and Northern Mart, Tyne Green, Hexham, Northumberland, NE46 3SG
6th April - Welshpool Livestock Sales, Buttington Cross, Welshpool, Powys, SY21 8SR
Arrive at 19:00 for 19:30 start. Events will last around 1.5 hours followed by beef rolls and refreshments.
Chris Mallon, NBA’s National Director will open the event with an update on price trends and recent NBA work. This will be followed by a presentation from a local Merial representative on the effect of parasites on beef productivity and how to lessen their impact. A question and answer session will conclude the session.
